Jewelry and print sets now on Etsy!

Long time, no update. I’ve been busy taking biology classes, dancing, and more. And then the whole quarantine thing happened…

I’ve been sorting through my jewelry and art inventory lately. With no craft fairs on the horizon due to COVID-19, I’ve started posting some pieces and sets on my Etsy page again.

So I came up with the idea to list several jewelry pieces (like earrings or necklaces) together in the same listing and have customers choose which pair or piece they want. The sets will also come with a small print, some stickers, and perhaps more. Sort of a grab bag assortment with some options and some surprise, all at a reduced price. I call them “Choose your own adventure” sets.

This is the complete set for one customer, who chose the copper floral earrings with obsidian. Her package came with a print, gift tags, some stickers (not shown), and two cards from the first proof of my oracle card deck.

Another customer chose these Celtic and amethyst earrings, and also received a print, stickers, a wirewrapped ring, and several oracle cards.

While these particular earrings are no longer available, I have other jewelry pieces available in this section of my Etsy shop here.

The prints and the stickers should be in stock — just make sure to request which ones you’d prefer when you order (and I can surprise you, too!). I only have one copy of each oracle card, but if you want a certain theme, I’ll tell you what I have available from my proof set so I can include it in the package. (Some ideas of what’s in my oracle card deck.)

Also, one piece of jewelry, a print, stickers, and more is only $18.50 (tax not included)! I doing only U.S. based orders at the moment.

So if you’d like some of my work, now’s the time! Go to my Etsy site and check it out!

An overdue update

I apologize – I’ve been neglecting my website and business blog. Here’s some of what I’ve been doing:

Finishing my oracle cards! I just submitted an order to print the first sets of cards, which I should get in the next two weeks or so. My current plan is to start with a small number, and if there’s enough interest, I’ll get more printed. I also ordered a proof of my oracle card book. I’m planning on beginning to sell them this summer, so stay tuned!

I’m still making some jewelry.  These are from a new collection I’m working on. I’m experimenting with playing with wire in an organic, free-form way and creating unique pieces that stand out.

In April, I participated in Susannah Conway’s April Love month, and did quite a bit of art and writing based on those prompts. Here is one.

I also learned how to make ear cuffs!

Update: Centerpiece bracelets

Last month, I watched a webinar on creating new product lines, which introduced me to the idea of collections.  I realized that while I do have some products (like angel pendants or collaged word pendants) that could fall into that category, I have a lot of general jewelry that falls under “wire wrapped gemstone jewelry” without a specific theme.  So, I’ve been working on a new collection: Centerpiece bracelets.  Mostly, it’s assembling already existing pieces and charms, but I’ve also experimented with making my own centerpiece connector.  Here are a few pictures.

They remind me a bit of watches with a focal point in the center.  There are so many possibilities for the centerpiece connection, from buttons to charms to wirewrapped or wirewoven pieces.  It’s been fun to play with this design and see what unfolds.

Treee!

I’ve had some days lately where I’ve wondered if I’m doing enough.  After writing all this out, I realize that I’ve done a lot this month  – and that I deserve the moments in between where I can rest, play, and dream.

Practicing creativity and self-care

Yesterday, I was feeling a little anxious.  There’s something soothing about creating a chain through connecting beaded links.  It’s methodical, detail-oriented, and repetitive.  So I decided to make something.

I have a bag full of beads leftover from other projects, or given to me by a friend who didn’t want them.  I’d seen a picture somewhere of necklace created with leftover mismatched beads, and wanted to try it.

This was my result:

This necklace is simple,  yet it stands out because it doesn’t follow a pattern.  I appreciate its asymmetry and variety.

How did I feel after making this piece?  Definitely calmer and more focused.  Creating is part of my self-care practice.  I’m so grateful there are times when I can take care of myself and make something beautiful in the process.
